«Quando resolvi enfrentar o mundo com os olhos e o coração aberto, foram-me devolvidas situações estranhas e surreais do mundano.
Black Box constitui um corpo de trabalho visual, através do qual Itay Peleg pretende desafiar aquele que olha, através do médium da fotografia, a manter os olhos bem abertos para os enigmas escondidos do dia-a-dia. Capturando detalhes marginais, reflexos, silhuetas espelhadas, entre luz e sombra, procura percepcionar no espaço envolvente signos do invulgar, para além do comum.
Uma caixa negra pode ser definida como a parte de um sistema complexo que produz um output discernível de acordo com o input recebido, mas cujo mecanismo ou programa interno é um mistério para o utilizador. Hoje em dia, as pessoas usam comummente caixas negras sem repararem e, ao mesmo tempo, tornam-se elas próprias caixas negras quando as suas decisões, especialmente enquanto consumidores (de imagens), parecem estar encriptadas na sociedade.
«Black Box é sobre expandir a visão das pessoas para as opções ilimitadas que o nosso quotidiano pode oferecer, apenas pela atenção. Como é que se pode saber do que se é capaz, se não se mergulhar no desconhecido»?
Sábado, dia 9 de Março, entre as 16h e as 20h, a CRU estará de portas abertas para receber clientes, amigos e demais visitantes, recebendo-os com um sorriso, um copo de Vinha D’Avó e doces da Confeitaria Nandinha.
